Claire Karthaeuser is the Administrative end of the company.  Having a Bachelors degree in criminal justice Claire does things "by the book".  Operating in this manner she keeps track of scheduling, client information, book keeping, insurances, licenses/and credentials, ordering materials & products and honestly, just makes sure the whole machine operates smoothly.  An indispensible part of the company Claire keeps the chaos to a minimum. 

A former U.S. Marine, Paul Karthaeuser is the company President and our primary Chimney Inspector.  Every inspection is performed by Paul who obtained a bachelors degree in business and first worked as a consultant in the pharmaceutical world working on phase three drug studies.  He is now a New Jersey State Licensed Building Inspector, Certified Professional Chimney Inspector, Certified Wood and Pellet burning Appliance Installer and a Certified Chimney Sweep.  Paul has also been recognized by the Superior Court System in the Stateof New Jersey as an expert witness in the chimney, venting and hearth appliance fields.  Having thousands of inspections under his belt he has seen much in the field but is still amazed at the poor installations he witnesses or hazardous conditions he routinely finds during his inspections.  Since his beginning in this profession many years ago Paul recognized the need for the most education he could obtain to offer the best services to his clients.  To that end, The Chimney Guys, Inc. has spent thousands of dollars and sent him around the country for further education on your behalf.  Paul has also worked in coordination with other chimney companies in the area including Ryan and Son Chimney Contractors, Climbing High Chimneys and Luna Chimney Sweeps and Hearth Products to name a few in order to round his skills and experience- share his experience and knowledge and benefit from the offerings of others in this and related professions.  Paul has served on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Chimney Sweep Guild and is the outgoing President of that organization.  A member of the International Association of Fireplace and Chimney Inspectors, the Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Assc., the New Jersey Chimney Sweep Guild and past member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild Paul likes to stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements. 

On a personal level, Paul fishes, sails, races r/c cars and trucks and loves to travel-spent a year in Germany and Europe as an exchange student and has gone on several cruises.  He is a big "foodie" and enjoys the cuisines of many other cultures.  Most of all he loves to spend time with his family and friends "down the shore".  Jersey people know!
